Yorgos Katsikogiannis is a Scientific Officer at Hellenic Ministry of Public Administration Reform and E-Government. He received his Diploma in Computer Engineering and Informatics in 1997 from the University of Patras, Greece, fulfiling his dissertation in University of Dublin, Ireland, supported by Hellenic State Scholarships Foundation. He received his MBA in Information Management Systems from University of Leicester in 2006. He achieved his CCIE #8512 Routing and Switching certification in 2001 among a number of other certifications concerning advanced routing and switching, security, wireless and voice concepts, and specializations regarding system, network and security administration.
He has achieved extensive networking and information management experience background over the past years. In 1999 he joined Algosystems S.A. as a Senior Systems Engineer and was involed in several projects of the public and private sector until 2004 when he joined Space Hellas S.A. as the Technical Supervisor of IT Department. He was the Technical Project Manager and the Head of large scale ICT projects for enterprise and ISP services. The last years he serves as the Local Registration Authority Administrator for HPARCA and provides consulting services on PKI and e-Government related projects in Greece and large-scale European pilot projects for the Hellenic Ministry of Interior.
He has been a certified instructor #EB14330 for the National Accreditation Centre for Continuing Vocational Training (EKEPIS) since 2007 and a Cisco Certified Systems Instructor #32648 since 2008 teaching to a number of Cisco Learning Partners and Academies. He has also been an instructor for e-Government courses at Hellenic National Center for Public Administration and Local Government (E.K.D.D.A.)
His research areas cover high speed networking and network performance, next generation networks, security, public key infrastructures and e-Government.
